This Victorian Era farmhouse was built in 1878. The main floor is decorated in classic formal Victorian style with original dark woodwork framing the doorways, transoms and lace adorning the tall double hung windows. The high ceilings and interior decor in the common rooms will easily transport you back to the Victorian period. But, we’ve kept it casual and comfortable through our reuse of building materials and modern conveniences such as central heat and air conditioning and wireless internet. They are complimented by antiques from different eras and relics from Jeanna’s global travels.
Over the years, many changes and updates have been made to the structure of the home. It’s believed in the early 1900′s, the wrap around porch and beautiful hard wood floors were added as well as moving the kitchen from the underground room to the main floor. If this interests you, Jeanna is happy to point out obvious elements of the current structure or remnants left behind that show proof of these changes.
A few more clues that this was once a working farm can be seen around the now 6.2 acres of grounds. You’ll find the old root cellar, outhouse and chicken coop, now the backdrop for Jeanna’s vegetable garden.
